THE HOLIDAY PROJECT

  • lounge in disabled access caravan
  • bedroom in disabled access caravan
  • kitchen & lounge in 8 berth

The Holiday Project is a Scottish Registered Charity offering low cost holidays. The Project owns 4 caravans all of which are sited at the popular Park Resorts Sandylands Holiday Park, Saltcoats, North Ayrshire.

THE CARAVAN PARK

The park is at a seaside location and only a short walk from Saltcoats Town Centre.  The park has a Swimming Pool, Fish and Chip Shop, Mini Shop, Laundromat, and Playpark. The many activities include, learning to swim, scuba diving, disco, quizzes, treasure hunts, DJ skills, Stage Works, family and adult entertainment etc.

THE CARAVANS

Three of our caravans are 8 berth and we have one 6 berth caravan which is fully adapted for those with disabilities. All caravans are fully equipped with T.V's, kettles, toasters, microwaves, hoovers, iron, ironing boards, duvets and pillows. Bed linen can be provided for a small charge, or you can take your own. Two of the caravans have a small paved area with picnic table, one has a spacious decked area with picnic table and the disabled access caravan has a ramp with small seating area.

THE COST

As a charity we aim to keep our costs low to make the holidays more affordable to those on low budgets. A weeks holiday costs between £175-£250, a weekend break costs £75.00-£130.  If a group of 8 people booked a holiday for peak season of £250.00, this equates to £31.25 each for a whole weeks holiday!!! If thats not value for money then maybe the fact that the cost INCLUDES Passes to the on-site facilities and entertainment, gas/electricity there are NO hidden extra costs, except a fully refundable Breakage Fee Deposit of £30.00, which is to ensure that the caravans are left in a good acceptable condition i.e. no evidence of smoking, or pets, mallicious damage etc. Fully details are given in our information pack.

FUNDRAISING

As a registered charity, The Holiday Project struggles to maintain the financial support required to ensure that we meet our aims of providing low cost holidays, and if you can help in anyway large or small all donations or fundraising activities would be very much appreciated e.g. If there is a community group wishing to carry out a sponsored activity etc. We are constantly trying to raise money to cover the site fees, running costs, office running costs, etc so any support is welcomed.
