Hi Folks, Hurrah!!! The Community Centre is open for business again. May I take this opportunity to say thank you to all of you for your patience and many thanks to all of our learners who were farmed out to other venues. I hope that it did not cause too much disruption. Our April - June term classes and courses are now underway but there are still opportunities available to you. So why not take up the Forge Ahead challenge and got yourself a place on the variety of courses and classes that Forge Ahead has to offer. Just contact Forge Ahead staff on 426070 and register for a class. Or pop into the centre and pick up a leaflet telling you everything that is on this term.

The computer drop -in sessions on a Friday morning and Wednesday afternoon have some spaces left for anyone who wants assistance with their computer needs. Just drop-in and speak to Gavin or Craig.
We still have some places left on the ECDL classes so get in quick an really learn how to get the best from your computer and get skilled up at the same time.The Art class is booming but they are always keen to have new people join. You don't have to know anything about art just come along and have fun.The Music group will begin on Thursday 29th April 7-9pm. So if you like to sing or play an instrument this group is the one for you.

Our next set of FREE TRY IT courses in conjunction with Kilmarnock college are being developed as we speak. These courses are for anyone aged between 18 and 40 years of age.Tourism /Hospitality course will be in Auchinleck or New Cumnock starting on Monday 10th May Retail course. Will be in Netherthird Community Centre starting on Thursday 13th May Webdesign media, course will be in Auchinleck Learning Centre starting on Wednesday 12th May Sports development course, Will be in Netherthird Community Centre starting on Tuesday 11th May. These courses will allow people an opportunity to try a short course and find out if they like it or not. Learners will be supported through these 20 hour courses . Learners will each receive Travel costs of £3.00 per day Lunch cost of £3.00 per day and any childcare costs (registered childminders). Each course will run 1 day per week for approx 4 weeks. So get in early and book a place on these fantastic FREE courses. Contact Joan on 426070.

Our Adult Learners week activities will be held in the community centres in Rankinston, Muirkirk, Dalmellington, and Cumnock academy. 19th and 20th May. This years theme is"Back to your Roots." We will be showing you how to play traditional games (gird n cleek and whip n peerie etc) as well as teaching you how to knit, sing a traditional song and also make a clootie dumpling - and you get to eat it with tea/ coffee and chat.. ALL FREE. So come along or get in touch for more details on 426070.

This years annual Presentation of Certificates will be held in New Cumnock Community centre on Tuesday 15th June. All transport is provided as well as the usual fantastic buffet. Forge Ahead Art group will be displaying their works. So congratulations to all of our learners who will be invited to receive certificates this year.
